And once again, I do think that his perjury, in and of itself, does justify his impeachment and removal. But I find it harder every day to care. I've been noticing more and more cynicism on both sides of this issue and I believe that this cynicism will be the real legacy of the latter part of the 20th century. We're losing the ability to be shocked or dismayed or even concerned by official misconduct, and that just leaves the scum with even more opportunity to screw us over. I encourage everybody to read Toynbee's A Study of History. There really is nothing new about this situation except for some of the pettiest details.
