Hello Brad,
Your little cyber-community is become quite litigious. There seems to be an increase in the number of people that want to sue for libel and slander (most don't know the difference). It is making SI a little bit scary.

Though I am not a lawyer, my understanding is that something would not qualify as libel (or slander) if it is to an anonymous alias. Jorj X. McKie is a fictional character and anybody could say anything they wanted about JXM and I would not have recourse as there would be no real damage to my "real" good name (which is hopefully lost in the annals of SI history).

So my suggestion to make SI a brighter less litigious place is to forbid the use of actual identities, rather than just suggesting that an alias be used. Then, maybe threads like this will die off:
