My favorite foreign book: The Tin Drum (Die Blechtrommel) by Gunther Grass. Movie was not too bad but not up to the book. My favorite foreign movie: Several: The original "Vanishing;" "That Obscure Object of Desire;" "Picnic at Hanging Rock;" "Mon Oncle d'Amerique;" among older foreign classics I suppose my favorite is "M". One very recent foreign film I liked was "Raise the Red Lantern."
