The market has risen this year against a backdrop of disappointing earnings. But there are exceptions, and Salomon Smith Barney pointed some out to clients in a recent advisory: 43 companies that the firm believes "have the potential for outperformance in the coming year," in part because earnings have been beating estimates lately.
