Indeed. The Street views Intel, Microsoft, compaq etc. to be in the PC business while IBM is the mainfrmae giant. IBM's plight in the mainframe end has to be viewed as the plus for the PC guys, and thus those PC group stocks all have had a marvelous move today. As to Sun, they dare to make the announcement today to enter into the high end mainframe computing sector in the light of IBM's demise, but has little to answer PC guy's competition in their low-end workstation business, so shouldn't they be punished? Ha ha ha, I just can't stop laughing at the Street's logic.
