"I could never handle that movie....I don't think I ever watched it all the way through." First time I saw it, I was marvelously stoned. As for the area where you grew up, yeah, I know. I grew up in NYC. During the riots, a guy I knew in high school who hailed from Newark (attending a private school in NYC at the time) joked about his back injury that it was from carrying a heavy TV. Sometimes I marvel that feminism has devolved into PC and I shiver with disgust. No, I won't have you shot if you sometimes wonder if the sixties were better. In some ways, yes; in some, no. Every era has its golden aspects. And, of course, we were younger then.
