Guardian, splits have no effect on anything (except the total number of shares o/s). Deals consummated before splits are adjusted based on split ratios. Splits also have no affect on the value of your holdings. They really represent the exchange of 1 piece of paper for 2 or 3. It's like getting two five dollar bills for a ten. You are no richer or poorer after the trade.
