expect no exciting news from msft till trial is over expect no comments re earnings till released. questions when is earnings release date & when is trial expected to end? Earnings release to fall between Jan 18 and Jan 22, based upon MSFT's tentative dates. When will trial end? I don't know but I think it depends on how much time Microsoft witnesses spend on the stand. I don't think the DOJ will take as long in the cross-examination of witnesses (just a guess). Maybe April 1999. You never know if MSFT will preannounce great earnings. They did it for the June quarter, although I don't think it will be done this quarter. If they do, I expect a split announcement along with any such news.
