>>The Clinton scandal is about politics.
Of course it is. Both sides have reacted the way they have, in large part, for political reasons. And since both sides have chosen their positions based, for the most part, on party affiliation, it becomes our duty to look beyond who says what and decide what's right.
>> However wrong Clinton's conduct may have been, it doesn't justify removal from office,
The issue has never been whether Clinton's behavior was wrong. That's just something the Dems trot out to try to defend him. The issue is that, at least in his Paula Jones deposition, Clinton's behavior was illegal.
>>especially in the face of continuing public support for the president.
Truly, you can never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people. Opinion polls on an issue like this are meaningless because too many stupid people respond. This issue is not about whether or not we like him, or how the economy's doing, or even who started it. It's about the president of the United States committing the crime of perjury and whether or not we're going to let him get away with it. This began as a political issue, but it's something much more than that now. We have to tread very carefully, because the future of our nation is a stake.
We cannot allow our leaders to violate laws that we are not allowed to violate. If we do then we will have no way to control them and we will stop being citizens and become subjects.
