Re: DELL"s Competitive Advantage 2....

Hi Jrevere and others,

Let me first of all reitereate my support (obviously) I own CPQ. I am also thankful for my partner discount but the Dell and Gateway is still cheaper.

Pls go to Dell's Online store and see if I made a mistake: I priced a Dell Dimension XPS r Pentium II 400, 128 Mg Ram, comfort keyboard, 17" monitor, 16 mb stb AGP graphics card,8.4 GB H>D>, floppy, 32X cdrom, Iomega internal zip, everything else standard $1873.oo out the door. Similar Gateway $1925.00

Compaq's online store: Presario 5600-400 pentium II, 128 mg, 10 GB HD, 32X CDRom,17: monitor, 16 MG Diamond Viper, no digital imaging center, floppy has zip w three discs and warranty 1yrparts/1yr on site/1yr carry on for $39.00 to be equal to Dell. Everything else standard $1992.95 out the door

These similar computers were priced yesterday 12/26. I will buy one of the three but only after Pentium lowers the price so the manufacturer can respond similarly and pass on the savings. They are all configured as closely as I can given the varying components. I hope compaq wins but they are behind in the stretch

Enjoy......
