<< Have you heard anything about MIDL?? I understand that if it hasn't traded by 12/31/98,
you can write it off to $ Zero and take Capital Loss in 1998. If stock ever trades again, your
cost then is Zero. >>

MIDL .... A Real Sleeper
Jim read the above link as MIDL is still a tradable security and believe it's best to call your
broker for spicifics on how to handle the loss. I've not heard or read anything to lead me to
believe one way or another if the company will trade again after the SEC is through.

I HAD ALREADY CONTACTED MY BROKER AND AM AWAITING ADVICE;
MEANWHILE DOES ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THOUGHTS OR INFO ON SUBJECT??

Jim......did you ever get that advice from your broker, and if yes, could you share it with us?

Could anyone point me to a IRS Pub that states what we can do instead of just hearsay?
I have a couple of stocks that have been halted(good picking,huh?) and would like to have
good solid answers on if we can take the loss without selling them. I would ask my broker
but I think I know more than he does. :-) TIA
