I may have the title of the movie wrong. It is either the way I printed it, or the title doesn't have an "a" at the beginning. It stars Jason Robards, Jessica Lang, Michele Phiffer, and has a whole host of other actors which play lesser roles. I probably wouldn't know whether or not it was a film that was recommendable or not because I don't use the same criteria when deciding whether a film is good or not. Depends mostly on whether I liked the story line or not. Bottom line: I liked it.

It is about a guy (Robards) who has farmed a large piece of ground all his life and has been in his family for three generations. Then he decides to turn his farm into a corporation and give each of his three daughters an equal share. The movie is mostly about the ensuing problems because of his decision as well as situations incurred by the three sisters.

When I say crying, I don't mean tear stained faces...I mean bawling as in gut wrenching anguish. Was that the way you meant referring to the film you saw Christmas Day?
