I've got stopped out before but I have also come out ahead on a stop-buy. A couple of weeks ago I put in a stop-buy on AMZN a couple of points below the market close of the day. The next day the stock was down about 25 points. My buy order didn't execute until it had already fallen 23 points. It came back 10 points or more later in the day. I'd rather be lucky than smart.
