Millicent DOA Followup: Vern was kind enough to respond tonite, (short and sweet) "I haven't followed the Wave stuff too much. I believe this is the set-top box technology for copy protection. I"m not so hot on this because it's tied to the "last mile" issue. For special hardware-based pay-per-view or other content protection technology to flourish still needs some leadership in how high speed services will get into the home. Right now this market is much too fractured between xDSL, cable, POTS and wireless. Vern " I think Vern may be a bit off target here. However, I'm not sure what to make of his "I believe this is the set-top box technology for copy protection" statement. It would be interesting to know why he believes this, based on what? I have replied back to Vern posing a few more questions. ---Slate
