I see that as a seriously flawed argument; especially when it concerns the desires of the Saudi's. The single largest user of hydrogen today is indeed the gasoline refinery, who is using more and more hydrogen to energize their fuel. It is the hydrogen in the fuel that gives it its power. The oil industry is front and center in the move towards cleaner burning fuels, so any argument that they will crush any emerging energy technology is baseless.
