Pru,
Do HP, IBM, NEC et al use the direct sales model? If they do, and with the trend of purchasing products online increasing, the impact to the resellers bottom lines may be caused by more than just the Compaq effect. Compaq has not warned us in anyway of an earnings short fall. After last year's debacle, I would think that they would not want to mislead in the slightest way. Time will tell.
