re: Buy a Dell

I heard compaq loses money on every sale to stockholders, which is why the deal is so cheesy. Do compaq a favor, enroll in school (to get edu discount) and Buy a Dell (then drop out during the tuition refund period). Dell will also lose money and its stock will get cheaper (-$8 spread out over billion shares), improving compaq's competitive position and raising CPQ price. then you can sell the risen CPQ and buy the fallen DELL, and then you will own both a computer and a company that works. It takes a little calculation to value the arbitrage, but a quick calculation suggests its a moneymaker. That is what you wanted to hear from this thread, wasn't it?
