That's a good question, Bill. Despite what Microprocessor Report predicts, I don't think Intel will be giving up the slot form factor any time soon in any other line of processors besides Celeron. I don't know why, but it seems that there are other things to stick onto the daughtercard besides L2 cache. I'll try to find out more.
