After reading the release, I believe that you get to ADSL via the connection with Asend and its alliance with Aware. Pairgain is offering a total solution with a migration path from HDSL to ADSL as it develops.(At least this is my interpretation).

To be honest, I find this to be rather disturbing since I own Amati and sold Pairgain. What is starting to really bother me is that Amati is not ending up with contracts or alliances in this first go around; eg. Alcatel and now Pac Bell. Let's face it, Ascend is the major player in the Internet game. The fact that they chose Aware says something to me. The saying "It's not over until the fat lady sings"; She may be ready to sing shortly. A little company called IBM ate Univac's lunch a number of years ago with an inferior product and superior marketing. It may be happening with Amati!
