Hi Lee, Cash per share? I like as close to 0 as I can get. The reason is fairly simple. Cash is an asset that is not used for generating more cash. It is better used to buy plant and equipment. It only earns at the money market rate, or is used as for compensating balances for banking arrangements. Of course you need some cash for working capital requirements, but just as with other assets, you want to have the most efficient deployment possible.

Value investors, and other anal types pay entirely too much attention to balance sheet items and insufficient attention to operational items. So the key to me is how the cash will be deployed. If the companies will use the cash to expand operations that's great. If its just going to sit there who cares?
