I have to disagree on this. I think they'd gain alot in the way of RDBMS technology. MSSQL is still relatively old code. Sybase 11.9.x is a fully different animal now. There's alot of things in it that would help MSSQL alot to become a more robust dataserver. Also, they could get alot of good talent. I think the issue for MS is that they wouldn't know what to do with the UNIX side of things. MSSQL 7.0 is good, but it needs more....
