OSFT - Great post by Skane on Tatraders thread:
ObjectSoft Fundamentals
What does the company do? If you ever find yourself renewing your driver's license or paying a parking fine through a computerized kiosk, you may have ObjectSoft to thank. The firm offers interactive services via the Internet and public kiosks. Sales come from kiosk sale or (on ObjectSoft-owned units) advertising sales. The City of New York (84% of sales) has ObjectSoft kiosks that provide access to certain city records, as well as birth certificates or other documents for a fee, while SmartSign kiosks provide information about city events and places of interest. ObjectSoft's FastTake units allow video store customers to search for titles.

ObjectSoft Expands FastTake Video Kiosk into International Markets by
Exclusive Distribution Agreement with Diamond Cove Entertainment
Canadian Based Company to Act as Sales Agent for Retail Kiosk that
uses Internet Based E-commerce Technologies
December 3, 1998 06:00 AM
HACKENSACK, N.J., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- After strong interest nationwide
since the FastTake(TM)'s introduction two months ago, ObjectSoft's OSFT
Chairman David E. Y. Sarna announced the appointment of its first international
distributor, Diamond Cove Entertainment Inc. of Canada.
Major retailers, advertisers, and video distributors will be invited to the
FastTake(TM) Canadian introduction in January in Toronto and in Calgary and Vancouver in February "We are extremely excited about the opportunity to represent FastTake(TM) in Canada. We believe that FastTake represents a significant development for the
future of consumer services in entertainment and retail locations," said Diamond
Cove President Tony Williams. "FastTake has the potential to be in every video
entertainment venue and virtually every video store in Canada," said Mr.Williams.
According to the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA), there are about 65,000 video outlets in the US and 7,000 in Canada.
Mr. Williams is a veteran of the industry, having introduced Canada to the concept of buying prerecorded movies in his family's electronics store in 1980. "At that time," says Williams, "the VCR penetration level was zero." After joining Video 1, Canada's largest video distributor, he moved on to work independently in the entertainment field acquiring family-oriented film rights and product.
Mr. Sarna commented, "We selected Diamond Cove as our distributor because we believe Mr. Williams' depth of industry experience and strong contacts will lead to a speedy and broad introduction of FastTake kiosks in the Canadian marketplace."
Without any advertising push, distributor inquiries have also come from Europe, Scandinavia, and South Africa. Interest is being driven by several factors including the unique appearance and features of the FastTake kiosk. Unlike a other industry solution, the FastTake video kiosk draws comprehensive information from a database with thousands of titles and simultaneously presents a sequence of video jacket art, still shots from films and corresponding trailers.
All ObjectSoft kiosks are built ready for display of multiple languages on a single interface. Since its interactive kiosks are database driven, users can easily switch between different language versions of any type of available information once translated. Its SmartSign(TM) kiosks offer New York City government service information in both English and Spanish.
