I'm glad to hear that you have done well following Jd's advice. To be
fair. I have also had gains in CCR ,AT&T,GM, and even a little on
RP. There was a time when I would of recommended to my friends.
But,the best way to decrease the value of a portfolio is to have an irrational attachment to a stock.
I don't blame JD for picking stocks like SMEor Cppky. But he is an
investment manager and would keep few clients if they had followed his advice to hold these stocks as long as he recommended.
I have cancelled my subscription in November, and December since
Philips failed to cancel it in Nov. as requested. My reasons are that :
1.It is necessary to develope your own buy and sell rules as JD has
few.
2.Once you have decided that a recommendation Is a good one,
you often have to ignore his advice and pick your own entry point to do well with his recent picks such as CD.
3.Too much print and commentary are devoted to his poor performing
stocks, in my judgement it should be focussing on the WCOM's,SEI,s
and new ideas.
Good luck to all
