Another thing to remember is that RCN still has quite a bit of Infrastructure to build in order to make their StarWave service grow here in DC. I stopped by their downtown DC offices, and inquired as to the current extent of their market reach. A gentleman admitted that RCN was currently in a growth period where earnings may be impacted by infrastructure costs as they duplicate bandwidth routes to curbside that already exist with their competitors. But I have to hand it to them for their snazzy marketing efforts. I suspect that RCN is looking for a higher stock price in order to do an additional IPO or private placement for expansion capital.
