based on scant personal experience agree with you 100%. not raising "buy just prior to earnings" approach based on anything other than observation / recollection that these tech stocks seem,on average, to spike after annoucements. no idea who could confirm. guess rationale is these stocks have gone up 500% based largely on earnings so chance is that earnings are "on average" better than expected. msft for example--doesn't it fairly routinely beat estimates?--if so might expect that price rises greater (on % basis) just after earnings than in intervening months
