Frank,

I believe McCourt has a solid plan in place. Detractors focus on service issues, which I understand are plentiful, but improving.

RCN is just now laying cable in my home town (suburban Boston) and I plan to use them for at least two and likely all four services when available. I'm spending $63/mo. for MediaOne cable tv & internet and (I'm told) will spend less with RCN for the same service...by then, I hope they'll have the growth-pain service issues resolved.

As for McCourt's comments on neglecting Kansas, I totally agree with RCN's philosophy of focusing on the country's most densely populated regions. I don't have the numbers at my fingertips, but I remember reading in the company lit. how something like 25% of the US population lives in the NE corridor (Boston to DC), which is +/- 5% of the US geography. Given the expense of laying fibre, this plan offers the most bang for the buck, no?

I'm just sorry I missed the CNBC interview...I hear he's a young and brash tiger, just the type who could bring the Bell Atlantic's of the world to their knees.
