Hi Doroteo,

I agree with what you say about many of the California's being over rated, and many of them just try to power the Cabernet down your throat.

Here are a few of my most regarded favourites, Ja Jota, Dominus(I know, french influence, but what do you think he thinks?), Phelps(Isigna, early 90s Backus Vinyard), Berringer, La Jota, Heitz(though I only have a few bottles of Martha's), Ridge,Dunn,Montelena, Ravenswood(select vintages),La Jota,Dalla Valle, Spottswoode.

Of course these are not wines I drink every day, but rather once a week or so I yank one out.

What kind of stem ware do you use? I have some Riedel(sp). I got some of the Sommelier Cab. stems, but usually drink out of the Vinum glasses. They cost about 1/4 of the other, and don't break as easily as the 30 oz. glasses.
