I suspect that you are not old enough to remember when it was swinging in the other direction. Well I am. I remember when "conservative" was a dirty word.In the late sixties and early seventies only the boldest would admit to being such [at least in my circles ] and "Liberal" was a badge we wore with pride. Unfortunately we took that badge and the pride that came with it a bit to far. Profit was a word that meant exploitation. Nixon could do nothing right. [ come to think of it he never did do any thing right ] Everybody deserved to be on welfare and the taxes on the wealthy were too low at 90%. All in the Family was the most popular TV show. Just when we thought the future was ours to make as we saw fit the backlash began and it has continued to this day. I see the arrogance in the eyes of the conservative RR that I remember from my hippy days Only that arrogance came from the eyes of my friends. I'm sure they saw it in my eyes as well. I sense the tide has already begun to turn. The Republicans cannot understand why there is no public out rage over the Clinton scandal. They continue to push the self righteous moralizing that has worked so well for them in the past but to no avail. The polls are lying they shout! It's the liberal media they moan. But I say to them at long last "the times they are a changing"
