Ed, my understanding is if a stock has been "halted" it can only be traded informally on the 'pink sheets' -as opposed to a brokerage trading it on an exchange. I believe once the SEC concludes its investigation it will relist and begin trading on an exchange. At least this is what I hope as I am stuck holding. Coincidentally, I called Datek the day it was halted and they "offered" to take it off my hands for 1.125 while it was trading at 1.75 on the p.s. I'm stubborn so I will wait. The company continues to develop it's e-commerce and online aspects so it is only a matter of time and/or new management. The business model is outstanding so I will take the chance.
