3D-NOW has been a complete failure for AMD. Why? Because AMD has not been able to charge a "value premium" for it. Have you seen the prices for K6-2 chips lately (relative to Intel chips)? Not a pretty picture. You can hype all you want about the number of games supporting 3D-NOW, but if AMD is not able to charge a premium for it, it's all for not.

Of course, Intel faces the same challenge with Katmai pricing.
