Delayed Big Deal Hurts Semiconductor Exports Despite a firming demand for semiconductors both Hyundai and LG Semicon are finding it difficult to win contracts as the delay in their merger causes contractors to look to a more stable production environment, it was reported Tuesday. As a result the US based Micron TI is rapidly overhauling the domestic firms' market share. LG Semicon's dealers concerned over the company's fate are not placing orders, taking a wait and see approach as LG's failure rate in production increases and unions become more militant. Hyundai is seen as parlyzed as even though it was awarded the majority share in the proposed merge, it is suffering from huge debts and cannot make a long term plan.
