There doesn't have to be a buyer. Brokerages will create a trade for a customer who wants to do a tax sale. A short, unless he expects the stock to go up, would be better off keeping the position, hoping for a zero. No taxes. Plastics company? Can't use the tax loss carry forward, so what are they buying? Hard to figure that one. Mega Blow?? Aptly named anyway. Happy New Year!! Dwight
