>>Does your voice service come over coaxial cable, or does it come over a Type 2 resale arrangement with the ILEC facility? Curious.<<

They resell Bell Atlantic here in Westchester County NY.   The plus is they promise 5% off BA rates, and gold # monthly fees get killed.   They match the unlimited local and regional calling plans of BA, but, weirdly, they will not offer this to brand new accounts.   Also they blew it when they set up the billing and charged me full rate for thousands of minutes I spent connected to the internet.   I've heard of no efforts to sell me cable or bring me anything advanced at all yet; simply the BA resale for a discount for now.

>>Also, some day you and I should sit down and compare notes re the bleeding edge of MFS/Intellinet services.   Did you ever try to change "away" from a CLEC? <<

I did and it's a good story but the most fun I had was after the 2nd NYC MFS Switch "downage" during '93(?).   All my traffic needed to be call forwarded to a different NYNEX CO for months. Problem was they charged me full business rates on each incoming call to a business with 70+ employees!   I was getting itemized bills that were inches thick with tens of thousands of dollars in overcharges.   What a riot!

They eventually credited the account wrong also and at one point they had themselves owing us over $50,000.   When I sold the business in April the account was still very confusing. This brings up a question: Do you know who handled MFS's billing system?   RCN's looks the same and I find it a bit annoying.   CSGS perhaps?
