I believe the Phase III trials ended by September; that the "unblinding" has been done; and that the results will be announced sometime next Quarter (which could be anywhere between this Friday and March 31st).

There's been favourable press (including an honourable mention in today's Financial Post - the business section of the National Post) with speculation that Verteporfin will be the first treatment approved for ARMD.

Yesterday, the Canadian markets were closed for Boxing Day. Perhaps there weren't enough bears around to sell into the rally.

In any case, I think 99 will be a very good year for QLT. :-)
