The truth of it is:

Buying on the bounce is an extreme long-shot gamble and one I personally take on a regular basis because the profit-taking is on the immediate resale at a small increase rather than the somewhat idealistic expectation of any sort of recovery.

Taking a small profit works most of the time while the probability of a recovery is so small as to not be there at all...
