I live in sunny Florida, and the number of seniors here is astounding. Yesterday, drove back from North Carolina to FL. On the road were, perhaps, 50% seniors. The cars they drove indicated quite a bit of wealth. There are many seniors, and they all buy sundrie goods and many other items. Then there is spending on the grand kids. The almost senior - 45+ group also has significant bucks and most have gotten rid of the kids, etc. and have quite a bit of disposable income. Does seem like a large market with significant dollars that advertisers would like to get their hands on. Time will tell, but perhaps a CBS strategy of targeting this group and taking a significant lead while the others duke it out for the "attractive?" groups. Just a thought.
