Mano, you say, Bollinger bands indicate a sharp move. Odds are it'll be up.

Bollinger bands indicate we have already had a sharp move. They have opened up, indicating high volatility. Look as AOL's chart and you'll notice it has moved from under 100 to over 150 in less than 3 weeks. It also has a market cap greater than Disney! Other technical indicators--stocastics, for example--indicate a downturn and MACD indicates a topping out.
