Catcher, I left a company after many years and pulled my 401K out and into schwab. My IRA this year is up 72%, do you think I would have gotten this out of standard 401K funds? I think not! I am not trying to sound smart because most of my gain was probably luck, but it all spends the same. So I am not relishing the idea of of getting back into my new 401K and not being able to manage the money, but the benefits of a 401K far out weigh not contributing in order to mange your money, i.e., company match, tax defered, etc... Oh well! MileHigh
