''Our continued trajectory bolsters our confidence that our unique multibrand network strategy is working,'' said Bob Davis, president and CEO of Lycos, Inc. ''The properties of the Lycos Network offer us the scalability that is propelling us into the lead. When you look at Lycos traffic numbers across the board compared to our competition, we clearly have the winning model.''

The Lycos Network is a multibrand model designed to attract the broadest Web audience by offering a variety of Web properties under one umbrella. Lycos Network growth has been fueled by
the growth of the individual brands and the circulation of traffic among Network properties. The Lycos Network includes four top 20 sites, Lycos.com, Tripod.com, Angelfire.com and HotBot.com
and each of these sites leads its category in growth.

Of the top three portal search sites, Lycos.com grew 9.4 percent while the other two grew less than one percent each since August. Lycos.com growth is attributable to a national advertising campaign
and a new site design, making it one of the fastest sites on the Web. During the same period, HotBot.com, a Lycos Network search property, has grown a dramatic 55.2 percent in reach largely
due to an aggressive brand campaign and traffic circulation within the Lycos Network. The Lycos Network community sites, Tripod and Angelfire, make up the largest and fastest-growing Web
community with 4.4 million registered members. Tripod.com grew 24.2 percent in audience reach since August and Angelfire.com grew 20 percent mainly because of word of mouth and integration
across the Lycos Network.
