re:You guage success as the ability of charging a "value premium"
for new technology? I guage success as the ability of establishing a standard and bring
value added to consumers.

The goal, obviously, is to do both, but AMD is doing neither. When AMD introduced K6-2, AMD kept bragging that 3D-NOW would allow them to price their chips near parity with Intel chips...Well, it hasn't happened. In other words, they failed! As for setting a standard, I don't see developers and OEMs urging Intel to support 3D-NOW instructions in their chips...in fact, the reverse will be true. As for bringing value to the consumer, if you're talking about a small niche of hard-core gamers, then I'll give you that one. KNI will provide value to a much more broader scope of users (hint: Intel will be using the word 'internet' in their marketing strategy).

I'll listen to what Jerry has to say in a few weeks...I'm actually hoping for more hype so I can sell my shares at a higher profit !!!
