NBG RADIO NETWORK INTRODUCES MARKETING/ SOFTWARE DIVISION
PORTLAND, OREGON (October 5, 1998) - -NBG Radio Network (NBG) has launched another new division in its goal to position itself as the top supplier/producer of syndicated radio programming. The new department's mission is to boost radio station revenues, create listener excitement and increase station exposure within their local markets. In addition to targeting clients in the radio and television industry, NBG will market their concepts and software programming to other industries.
The first major project for NBG's latest division is the Preferred Listener Program (PLP), which uses an identification card along with computer hardware and specialized software to identify and reward loyal listeners. The entire PLP system including software programming is being designed in-house, enabling NBG to sell the system for substantially less than our competitors.
Also under way is the development of CustomLink (CL), a project designed to turn customer data into new revenues. Much like the PLP, CL captures specific information to identify a company's customers and stimulate interaction between these customers and the business. Also developed entirely in-house, CL uses purpose-built kiosks with touch screen monitors to provide customers with an avenue to access discounts, enter promotions, and order business merchandise.
The intrinsic flexibility of CL provides applications in all service related industries. NBG is currently meeting with a variety of companies, including professional sports organizations and venues, restaurant chains, resorts and hotels, as well as organizations that host music and lifestyle events. According to Larry Kotan, Marketing Director for NBG, "The creation of this new department is another indication that NBG is committed to providing the services and solutions that set us apart from other radio syndicators. The bottom line is that NBG is the only radio syndicator committed to becoming a total marketing resource for our partner radio stations. And now with the addition of full time programmers on staff, we'll be able to offer a full range of computer services to the radio industry, including custom software programming, internet design, hosting and data base management."
In addition to this new division, NBG produces short and long-form programming on four networks: Sports, Financial, Entertainment, and Nostalgia. NBG currently produces 27 national radio programs reaching more than 1,600 radio stations in the United States. John A. Holmes, President of NBG comments, "While our focus remains on serving the radio industry, CustomLink is the first project that enables NBG to strengthen our company by diversifying into other industries. The creation of this new department will assure continued growth for the company and our shareholders." |
