<<<People will get tired. They'll go back to their lives, stay with the leadership, and leave the popcorn to the daytraders. That's how Microsoft, Cisco and Dell became the great investments they did.
Right now there's a flurry trying to trade on the next Amazon, eBay, AOL, and Yahoo. I ask you in retrospect...who really needed to find the "next Microsoft" in 1988?>>>

You don't seem to understand. AMZN's own acquisition of junglee legitimizes a bot function. Why if I use a bot as a loyal amzn user would I not seek out the best price if service is reasonable? Anytime that someone has showed me a new bot, I've checked it out. Anytime I've shown one to friends, be they amazon, borders, cdnow, ntki, or bks users, they've checked them out.
shopping.com buy.com (business model we sell at a loss or at cost to consumer and make our revenues by charging ad space) pricescan.com mysimon.com (heck toss in yahoo, aol, msn, and xcit)
Explain to me why I wouldn't use one of these guys (or better 2 or 3 of them) for each and every purchase I make? I get the guaranteed best price.

ps i'm sure that the increased float, the numerous internet IPOs scheduled for the first quarter (including barnes and noble which will have a teeny investment bank named goldman sachs leading it thru road shows in city after city pointing out it's free cash flow, superior distribution capabilities and soon to open music and video stores, to Institutional investors) will also be good for amazon as internuts will have a panoply of choices from which to sate their net appetite. |
