Zeev, thanks for the explanation. As I understand it, 8000 laptop batteries per day is not unrealistic for line 1. Apparently Valence believes their market share will be higher because of more equipment on order, including another large battery line for mid to late '99.

As I mentioned before, Valence themselves should have access to far more accurate market data than you or I have from any information we can acquire from published estimates on the internet. Valence has been in direct contact with customers who do their own planning and have a better idea than anyone how many of Valence's batteries they intend to purchase.

I understand, like most factories with orders, it will be a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week operation and that the present challenge is to demonstrate to large customers that they are capable of supplying very high quantities. If the batteries are by far the best available, who is to say they whether 5% or 50% of the laptop manufacturers will want them? I don't subscribe to the argument that Valence is putting more production capacity in operation than they have customers for.
