Rick,

My criticism of Mother Teresa is simply that at the end of her career, when she had the eye and ear of the world and could have made an enormous impact with a few words, she chose to keep silent. Did she never speculate, in all her years of dealing with the horrors of life, on why these horrors came to be? If she did, why did she not share her speculations - and their results -with us? We will never know. But I do suspect that one reason she was given the platform of fame was that those who gave it to her knew very well that she would not rock the boat. Which is a criticism of them, not of her.

Why do we prefer to idolize those who humbly clean up our messes without suggesting that we stop making them?

Steve
