... Muffy cringed when she recognized the pastor of the local community church. He had befriended her during her extended bout with appendicitis. They had met entirely by accident at the hospital where she was being treated. She remembered that she had been wandering the hospital aimlessly and friendless, when she came upon the nursery area. She was enjoying watching visitors come up to the window to see the new babies. The pastor was there, also, to see a newborn member of his flock. They exchanged pleasantries, and soon became friends. But now, laying there spread eagled for all to see, she felt so alone again. Naked. Not a friend in the world. But, the pastor, remembering the history that Muffy had shared with him during those hospital visits, calmly entered the room, motioned for the carolers to continue on their trek, and closed the door behind him. He walked over to the couch, looked down at her, and smiled. "Sure is a pretty day", he said.
