Wow The LYCOS Thread LIVES!!!!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have found myself obssessed by ski related planning and have been only following price movements and wire announcements not SI threads.
As for a breakout, it certainly was a small one but brief as evidenced by the recent correction down. Sure hind sight is 20/20 but I would have predicted this turn back down anyway (in fact I did, just not publicly). I sold out a day too early though, just before the +3 day (20+% profit missed), but I still made just about 50% profit (timing timing timing!). I just don't see a real reason for this level to be maintained; not at this point at least. The press release was positive but not positive enough to warrant this run-up. It just seems that all the INET Search type stocks were running up and Lycos was on the upward momentum anyway so it benefited most (don't qoute me on this since I didn't check in-depth all the others but from my glances at their movement Lycos seemed to win out). There were probably a host of other factors which contributed to the traders going for this stock most but that seems the most reasonable explination to me. Earnings expectation may have been a factor but I'm not betting on it.
As for revenues this quarter, I have it from some insiders that Lycos will be doing very well. I don't have a number which I can give but expect significant growth of earnings over last quarter. The advertising income is increasing dramaticaly despite there being better (probably) search engines. Lycos is still used by hordes of people and more ad $$$ are flooding towards all the leading search engines; also the strategic alliances are still flowing to Lycos.
My expectation is that the stock will float back down into the lower teens before earnings, around middle of feb I believe, and then scoot upwards quite rapidly after, or near and also after, earnings are released. But with todays gain so far (+1/2) It appears that that prediciton may already be in jeopardy. I personally will be staying out for the short term, mmostly because I have short term interest in other issues elsewhere, and sometime just before earnings or when/if the low teens are reached again I will jump back in for the next surge forward. It could rocket on earnings but save the pat on the back until it happens. Although I have been doing extremely well my predictions have only been about 82.5% accurate ;)
