Phil Karn,.... began agitating for inclusion of a TCP-IP
protocol stack in every cellphone.
...
Qualcomm CDMA thus is uniquely adapted to the net, as will
become obvious with the introduction of the pdQ Palm-phone next year. I predict it will become the most popular PC on the
market.

Are you implying that the Palm Phone(same as pdQ) will have an IP
stack (some kind of IP over IS95 ?) built into it. That would be
cool, and can enable a lot of applications, but I have not seen
that claim anywhere. I have heard some heresy that current
networks carry packets too small to fit 20 bytes of IP
header...but I could be wrong.

I am sure there will be some integration of things such as phone
lists, appointments etc to phone features, but I have not seen claims
of IP connectivity in pdQ or any other cell phone. It might happen
some day ofcourse.
