AML Communications Inc. receives contract for new
Low Earth Orbit network market

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 1997-- AML Communications Inc
Thursday announced it has secured a contract valued at approximately $700,000 for high linearity
amplifiers to service the emerging Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite telecommunications network
market.

The contract includes a two-week option for the customer to increase the order, if exercised, by
an additional $600,000 aggregating to a total contract value of $1.3 million. Delivery of the order
is expected to occur in the company's first quarter of fiscal year 1998.

The LEO satellite network is designed to provide high-speed digital communication through Earth
gateways worldwide.

Commenting on the sale, Jacob Inbar, chairman and chief executive officer, remarked: "This
contract is yet another example of our ability to leverage our proven technologies, create new
products and open new markets. In this particular case, we have capitalized on our patented
lossless feedback technology.

"Developing this new amplifier enables AML Communications to enter the promising LEO market
