[CAP deployment:]

<<<They feel CAP will be deployed first as it is more cost effective and has less problems.>>>

Mike --

Everyone I've talked with in both camps agrees. What's changing is the time between CAP being deployed and DMT. CAP has yet to bring out their second generation chip and if they don't hurry, their time advantage will be gone completely. The slow-down in deployment has been all to DMT's benefit this far.

What most don't realize is that DMT vendors have benefitted from 1) cable competition and 2) industry slow-downs like the FCC lag in making access fee decisions. If we're lucky, we'll see more and more ISPs announcing highspeed upgrades which will serve the same purpose as cable threats a few months ago.

Believe me, this is just the beginning. Just wait till the likes of MCI, Sprint and IBM (yes, you read that right) start announcing ADSL.

The orchestra is just warming up.

Regards,

Pat
