Another reason for today's pop could be that the company will be taken private soon. It was run as an S-corp until '95 or '96 and Stanley Black still owns the controlling interest. It came public around 15 and has never made it back. It might make sense for the majority interests to pick up the remaining float. Certainly they can't have been too happy to see it languishing around $2 the past few months.
